About
the Authors
Don
White has been a visionary and teacher in the grain merchandising
industry for over 50 years. He has written and co-authored several
books with Sherry Lorton, including the Merchant's Edge
which has made a vast impact on country grain elevators and universities
across the nation. Major grain companies in the U.S. and Canada
have used The Art of Grain Merchandising, Merchant's Edge
and the duo's other books to train their employees
to be expert merchants.
As
Chairman of White Commercial Corporation, Don White founded the
company in 1971 with the goal of providing excellent education in
merchandising to agricultural businesses. Over the years Don has
put together a team of co-workers who share his vision and desire
to help others develop their skills in merchandising.
Sherry
Lorton is a Grain Merchandising Specialist and has written
or co-authored with Don White ten grain merchandising books including
her most recent, The Art of Grain Merchandising,
formerly the Merchant's Edge.
Sherry
is the Educational Director of White Commercial Corporation and
joined the company in 1978 where she learned the skills of merchandising
by working alongside some of the best merchants in the business.
She has since developed an extensive line of educational programs
and materials on grain merchandising for the industry and is the
originator of the grain industry's only
Grain Certification
Course.
In
their recent book, The Art of Grain Merchandising,
Don and Sherry share the expertise of people who are actively merchandising
grain and making a real difference in their businesses and communities.
